We're looking for 25 marketers with five minutes to spare

Six months in, we know the supply side: 250 sportfluencers who actually want in. The brand side we want to know better. So we're looking for 25 experienced marketers willing to lend us five minutes of criticism.

We're looking for 25 marketers with five minutes to spare

Six months. That's how long we've been building Sunday Squad. With plenty of enthusiasm, plenty of vibe, plenty of code, and every few weeks the healthy question of whether we're onto something brilliant or simply heading the wrong way with remarkable efficiency. The first collabs look promising. One of them is international. For now we're trying to act normal about it.

What we do

Sunday Squad activates 25 sportfluencers at once for a single brand. Runners, cyclists, rowers, padel players — people who suffer on Sunday mornings while the rest of the street is still asleep. Together they bring that brand to life through authentic content, each within their own community, all around the same story. No script. No star flown in from afar to tell you how good something is. Just 25 people you know from the start line or from Strava.

The side that works

On the supply side, nobody needs to explain anything to us anymore. Roughly 250 sportfluencers are now in our portfolio, with stubborn daily growth symptoms. They sign up, they fill in their profile, they ask when the next collab is coming. So there's plenty of appetite on that side. That was the part of the story we were least sure about when we started. It turned out to be the easiest.

The side we want to know better

On the other side of the table sits the brand. We know that side too. The collabs running right now teach us something every week: how a brand manager reads a brief, where he drops off, what she wants to see before she frees up a budget. But a handful of brands that already said yes is a small window. Whoever said yes had already seen something that convinced them. What we don't see is what the hundred others thought when they closed the tab.

And there's something else. Everything on thesundaysquad.com was written by the people who built it. That's precisely the problem. To us, every word sounds logical. Whether it also sounds logical to someone who hasn't spent six months on it, we'll only know when that person tells us.

The ask

So we're looking for 25 experienced marketers willing to lend us five minutes of professional criticism. Look at Sunday Squad through the eyes of a brand. As if you had a launch tomorrow and were looking for a way to get it into the sports community.

Four questions will do. What's immediately clear? What do you only understand after reading it three times? Where do you see value? And what wobbles, grates, or smells suspiciously like something that only makes sense to the people who came up with it?

Back it up with twenty years of experience, by all means. An unexplainable gut feeling counts just as much. The marketing world has run on both for long enough. Three sentences are enough. More is better. Honest is best. A compliment is nice, but we learn less from it than from the sentence that starts with "what I don't get is".

What you get in return

Afterwards we'll send you the combined feedback from all 25 participants. Including, we suspect, at least seven contradictory opinions. Along with what we did with it: what we changed, what we deliberately left as it was, and why. Anyone who puts five minutes into our project gets to see where those five minutes ended up.

So who doesn't have five minutes?

Email tom@thesundaysquad.com. Or tag the best marketer in your network and let them do the work. That counts too.
