Should you make short-form video mandatory in a collab briefing?
No. You can ask for it, and you'll often get it anyway — but a mandatory format produces scripted content, and scripted content is exactly what you don't want from sportfluencers. Someone who never makes Reels and is contractually required to make one produces a video their own followers don't recognise. The audience sees that, and so does the algorithm.
What does go in the briefing: the number of posts, the brand mention, and the timing. The form stays with the sportfluencer, who built an audience in a particular format and knows what works there. In practice that's video more and more often without anyone asking — Reels account for 46% of the time users spend on Instagram.
If you want guaranteed video as a brand, we solve that with selection instead of obligation: we build the squad from sportfluencers who already publish video today. Same result, made by people who can do it.
